Back in my college days, my best friend from high school convinced me to join him in the real estate world at his parents' real estate agency in our hometown.
It turned out to be a life-changing decision... until I graduated in 2008. Remember what happened to real estate that year? Yeah, it was a rough time.
The moment I shed my cap and gown, reality hit hard. The world was filled with uncertainty, and it seemed like nobody's job, income, or financial future was safe... unless they had full control.
During that period, it felt like the world was imploding. Everywhere I looked, there was only uncertainty.
Even my friends, who had graduated from prestigious colleges, were working at Starbucks just to make ends meet.

As a traditional real estate agent, I found myself in a tough spot. Banks weren't lending, and buyers were nowhere to be found. It was a challenging time for me.
In the midst of it all, fate led me to my mentors, Than and Paul. They taught me the ins and outs of real estate investing and revealed that the 2008 recession was actually a blessing in disguise.
At the age of 22, I was fearful of what my parents would think after investing four years in college and then pursuing real estate. However, I took a leap of faith and never looked back.
One-by-one, I started acquiring rental properties. Fast forward 15 years, and I've been fortunate enough to not only retire myself but also support most of my extended family.
The moral of my story is this: It wasn't luck, money, or intelligence alone that brought me success. It was the fact that I learned the blueprint needed to achieve success in real estate.
